HIRAC Training 2016
A Hirac Training – Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control had been conducted on 15,16 July 2016 at United Sweethearts Garment Sdn Bhd, Sungai Bakap.
The purpose of this program is to educate the participants on the crucial Occupational Safety & Health subject ‘HIRARC’, its objectives, benefits and its implementation techniques.
The course takes the participants through the key tools of Incident / Accident prevention that is Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC).
The course will take the participants through Hazard identification process, recognizing the Hazards in the work
process, then walk the participants through each step of the HIRARC implementation with practical workshops.
After attending this workshop, 20 participants will be able to describe;
1. Accidents, Hazards and Risks;
2. The methods of identifying the Hazards in the work place.
3. The Risk Assessment methodology.
4. The hierarchy of control measures
5. The implementing techniques of the HIRARC/DC

Voluntary Fire Fighting Squad Kota Permai Bukit Mertajam (Persatuan Kota Permai Bomba Sukarela) have been established since 1997.
The special squad will assist Bukit Mertajam Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in responding to emergency cases related to fire outbreaks as ‘front line fire fighters’ before the arrival of Bomba fire engines and personnel.
Recently they conducts a fund raising for purchase a new refurnish fire engine which cost more than RM100,000 in replacing the old fire engine which always broke down. United Sweethearts Garment Sdn Bhd had donated RM1,000 to this fund.

AGM FY17
First time in the record for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be held in Flamingo by the Beach Hotel, outside of United Sweethearts Garment’s premise on 21 and 22 May 2016.
The two days events are full of fun, joy, warm relationship and bonding closer fellowship among the family members and managers.
While managers are attending the AGM to review the past performance results, brain storming the future target and direction and its action plan for moving forward, the rest of the family members are enjoying the early sun rising, beach side walking or dumping in the swimming pool.
4 buses has been chartered for 126 pax from 40 manager’s family. The itinerary includes visit to Entopia Penang Butterfly Farm, 5D Interactive World, Amazing World Studios and Made in Penang Interactive Museum. Grand dinner was called at E&O Hotel and Starview Restaurant.
Many photos being taken to capture the best moment and sensation of the trip.
USG recognized that the family forms an important integral part of employee’s life and career. A happy and solid household has a strong impact on employee’s focus, performance and contribution.
The reaching out to the family members would improve the overall well-being and strengthen the organization-employee bonding.
The event is really marvelous and unforgettable, we are exciting to anticipate the next year event!

A fund raising concert was organized by SMJK Jit Sin Chinese Orchestra on 30th April 2016. The purpose of this event is to raise fund for musical instrument purchased and for normal activities fund support.
United Sweethearts Garment Sdn Bhd had generously contributed RM3,000 to support for the activity.

Chinese culture is one of the oldest and most complex ever flourished with its components includes literature, music, visual arts, martial arts and cuisines.
Today, Chinese culture has left their marks of influence all around the world.
Persatuan Bahasa Tionghua Kampus Kejuruteraan had organized a Charity Chinese Culture Night 2016 on 17th April 2016, at Dewan Utama, Universiti Sains Malaysia Engineering Campus.
United Sweethearts Garment Sdn Bhd had generously sponsored RM2,200 to support for the event.
The primary objective of the event is to enable students and public to be aware of the state of social welfare and cultural quintessence. The fund raising from the event will be donated to the charitable organizations.

Youngsters Basketball Club Penang is the one of the oldest basketball club with 82 years of history and have actively promoting and developing the sport of basketball in Penang. MKMA had conducted a technical analysis talk on 19 March 2016, 10.00am at MKMA Serminar Hall, Batu Pahat, Johor. MKMA President Mr Tang Chong Chin briefed the participants on the technical requirements under the textile & apparel chapter of the TPPA.

The talk aim to help its member to understanding and tape into the advantage of TPPA, especially on Textile & Apparel market access into TPPA Countries. Apart from direct exporters, the players in the whole supply chain and intermediate suppliers also need to be familiar with the rules, in order to benefit from TPPA.

Fire Evacuation Drill
On 16th March 2016 at 8.30am, a fire alarm was triggered without notification except the ESH members. It was assumed that the causes of fire at store area, alarm triggered manually. All employees were evacuated by their nearest exit and gather at Emergency Assemble Point.
All ESH committee members monitor the situation and educate workers to move fast towards assemble point via nearest exit door.
All employees has dispersed and assembled and all Lines Supervisor have respectively reported the own manpower present for the day to the Fire Warden Chief, Mr Prakash Rao (SHO). Later found one person was reported missing. The missing person is attached to store dept.
With the assistance by the Fire Fighting Team lead by Mr. Alex, the victim was found at toilet and was late response to the drill, then he was immediately brought to assemble area. No injury happens.
The fire drill evacuation was conducted successfully to office and production area. The time keeper has recorded duration of 2 min 50 second when the last person stepped into the assembly area. (The maximum time for any evacuation is 3 minutes).
