Lion Eye Dotting Ceremony
USG/MWE had contributed a pair of Lions for the SJK(C) True Light Ex-Student Association Lion Dance Team.
In traditional southern lion dance, before the ‘lions’ do their performances, the ‘lion’ must be blessed by an eye opening or eye dotting ceremony.
The eye opening ceremony is the ceremony where the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, leg, forehead and the rest of the necessary parts of the lion is dotted by a special trained person.
This is done to awaken the spirit of the lion before it is being used in the lion dance. In other words, they bring down the positive spirit from the heaven to the lion and give it life.
The Lion Eye Dotting Ceremony had been carried out at Autocity, Juru, on 7-Sept,2014 Sunday night.
Both lion is being dotted by Mr. Tang Chong Chin and Miss Goh Suat Bee.

CPR & First Aid Training 2014
“CPR & Occupational First Aid” training was conducted on 4th & 5th September 2014 at USG Sungai Bakap with 20 participants attended.
The training gives more comprehensive coverage on the understanding and practical guidance as well as the theoretical aspects of first aid based on the concept of prevention.
When someone becomes ill or injured, there is usually a short period of time before we can get professional medical assistance. It is that length of time that is most critical to the victim. What we do, or don’t do during that period of time can make the difference between life and death.
It has been shown that proper initial handling of the accident victims contributes significantly to the final outcome and often determines if a life could be saved. This program will impart the basic practical knowledge of First Aid to achieve the objectives.
• To respond to emergencies safely
• Understand basic first aid principles and its procedures
• To recognize, assess and support the most common emergencies until professional help arrives
• Be aware of the importance of proper safety procedures
• Identify common injuries at the work place and how to deal with them
United Sweethearts Garment Sdn Bhd is the Official Partner for Second Penang Chief Minister Cup International Basketball Invitational Championship 2014 which was held on 25-29 July 2014 at Han Chiang Indoor Stadium.
Total 6 nation team are participating which include Australia Chinese Basketball Association (Australia), Chinese Taipei National University of Art (Taiwan), India Karnataka State Basketball Team (India), Malaysia Selection Team (Malaysia), Philippines Blackwater Basketball Team (Philippines) and Singapore Siglap Basketball Club (Singapore).
Thru sponsorship, company wish to promote sport amongst employees which will lead to a healthier workforce and greater productivity.
Malaysia Selection Team had won the championship by winning all 5 matches.

Employee Welfare, Medical Equipment
URC has purchased a unit of Medical Bed and Portable Phlegm Suction Pump recently.
The objective of the purchase is to lessen the burden of URC members by lending the equipments to them in case of intensive care is needed.

Fire Relief Fund, Saptari Nepal
On Apr 10, 2014, a massive fire at Jamuni Madhepura VDC of Saptari District has claimed the life of a minor and reduced around 100 houses of some 65 families to ashes. Two children are reported missing in the inferno at Thalai village that gutted the entire village.
According to police, the fire had started from one Muhammad Salamat at around 1:30pm and destroyed the whole village in no time.
A collection of Relief Fund is carried on from Apr 17,2014 to collect donation for 5 employees which their family are the victims of the above Fire Tragedy.

The late Mr. Song Ban Kheng (R.I.P. on 22-Sept-1986) was a headmaster of Jit Sin High School (1962 – 1980).
In remembrance to his merit and contribution to the society in general and education in specific, the alumni of Jit Sin’s Students and friends had setup the Song Ban Kheng Education Fund.
Since its establishment, the Fund has given away 24th terms of university scholarships, education awards to Jit Sin High School, Jit Sin Independence High School and others school in Penang. Furthermore, the Fund also set up the computer center for Jit Sin High School.
An fund Raising Charity Concert was held on 5 May 2014 to raise fund for purchase a premises as an office for this fund.
Our company had contributed RM3,000.00 for the concert.

On 1 May 2014, we carry out a orang asli recruitment project to Gerik, Perak Darul Ridzuan.
We start our journey at 8.30am. We donated 56 pcs of jacket, 110 pcs of pant and 2 cartons of fabric. We arrived at Gerik town at 10.00am. We eat Bitter Ground Noodle Soup for breakfast while waiting others to meet with us.
We depart from Gerik at 12.30pm and after 45 minutes of drive from Gerik Town, We are at our first destination, Islam Village. This village have only more than 50 residents.
We have the opportunity to meet with the Penghulu Danny.
We walk about 200m from Islam village until we reach a lakeside. From there, we take boat to cross the lake and arrived at Christian Village.
Mr. Stng do a presentation to introduce our company to the village and Ketua Sabina. This village have more than 100 people.
We leave the Christian Village at 3.30pm.

Got Talent Nite 2014, Sungai Bakap
URC organized USG Got Talent Nite 2014 for Sungai Bakap location on 18 April 2014, 5.30pm. Before the event starts, all employees are served with Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) or Vegetarian Food.
The programmes are Got Talent Competition with 19 participants and Movie Characters Imitation with 3 participants.
The best performer from Sungai Petani Got Talent Nite 2014 are invited to demonstrate their talent in Sungai Bakap.
A total sum of cash RM3,000 was given away as Lucky Draws. All employees are overjoyed with the performances and reluctantly to end the event at 9.30pm.
