Go Green Project 2015

USG recently launched the Go Green project within factory premises.

We have add more flower plant, 15 fruit tree sapling, 4 sets gymnastic facilities and some chair within factory compound.

The aim is to create awareness on the importance of healthy life, balanced work life and go green.

MKMA comments on Malaysia Budget 2015

MKMA disappointed with the New Malaysia Budget 2015 which was released on 23/10/2015.  MKMA members comment that more enterprise will be closed up.

Job Fair Perda, Bukit Mertajam

20151010_111948Jabatan Tenaga Kerja jointly organized with Jabatan Perdana Menteri have host the Job Fair with 40 private employers at Perda City Mall, Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam.

The event was opened to the public from 9.00am to 4.00pm. Admission is free. Two day event which started on 10th Oct 2015 and ended on 11th Oct 2015.

USG took part in these event and the response has been overwhelming. There are also free workshops throughout the day by industry experts.

This event enables job seekers to meet and interact directly with prospective employers.

More than 10,000 job seekers from all over Penang attended this job fair.

MKMA President Comment on Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Pact

‘We have been long waiting for this.’ said Tang Chong Chin, Managing Director of United Sweethearts Garment Sdn. Bhd and also president of the Malaysia Knitting Manufacturers Association (MKMA).

He commented that ‘Over a number of years, I believe the whole landscape of sourcing will be changed.’

MWE Holding Annual General Meeting 2015

Annual General Meeting of the Company had been held at the Company’s Registered Office at No. 846, Jalan Besar, Sungai Bakap, 14200 Sungai Jawi, Pulau Pinang on Tuesday, 1 Sept 2015 at 2.00pm.


The Group had posted revenue of RM379.0 million for the 15-month period ended 31 March 2015 as compared to RM300.9 million registered in the previous 12-month period ended 31 December 2013.revenue 2015

 

The consolidated 15 month period profit before tax for the Group was RM30.8 million compared to last year’s 12-month period of RM21.4 million.

The better results were primarily due to the fine performances of Textile Division and Telecommunications Division.

Oshkosh Vice President Sourcing, Bryan Landreth presented this award to Ms Agnes Chua at the event Carter’s / Oshkosh B’gosh 2014 Recognition Award, held in Langham Place Hotel, Mong Kok, Hong Kong on Jun 16, 2014.

This awards recognizes United Sweethearts Garment that has gone the extra mile and exceeded its client’s expectations on the delivery of product and services for the year of 2014.

Donation To Kluang Storm Victim

A Fierce storm took place about 6.30pm on June 2,2015, wreaked havoc in eight residential areas in Kluang, Taman Indah Jaya 1, Taman Indah Jaya 2, Taman Ko-Rakyat, Taman Matahari, Taman Dato Amar Diraja, Taman Sri Paya, Taman Ilham and Taman Bertuah. Total 266 houses were effected in the storm.

Some 150 families from several residential areas were evacuated after their houses were damaged by uprooted trees or house roofs ripped off.

Thru Pusat Komuniti Kluang, United Sweethearts Garment Sdn Bhd had donated RM5,000 to the victims to lighten their burden.

FMM Heritage Green Walk 2015

Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Heritage Green Walk 2015 was held at Beach Street on 31 May 2015.

This event was sponsored by Penang OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad with objectives:
1. Raise funds for underprivileged children
2. Encourage a healthy lifestyle
3. Promote the heritage sites of George Town
4. Achieve the objective of a Cleaner, Greener Penang.

USG had donated RM10,000 and sponsored 56 members to participate in this event.

The 5km walk flagged-off by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at 7.00am sharp.

The walk passed by 15 places including the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, Mariamman Temple, Kapitan Keling Mosque, Cathedral of the Assumption and the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower near the Esplanade.

The event ended at about 11.15am after mock cheque presented to representatives of the children’s homes & centres and the lucky draw session.

Mary Singaram was the luckiest person on the day walk away with a Apple Ipad Mini 2.
