Kaizen – Kick Off
With full preparation for the kaizen project by kaizen team, the kick off activity is crucial to make sure the project is running smooth with flying color results.
Predetermined Time System (PTS) has been widely used to establish an accurate and consistent Standard Time to define Standard Allowable Minute (SAM) for manufacturing apparel.
USG has invested GSD (General Sewing Data) to do work study and setting of Standard Time in production floor. Motion Study Training is organized. The trainee has gone through the theory and doing practical in sewing floor.
Motion study training has included activity as below;
1. Select work to improve
2. Record through observation all the work activity
3. Examine the method
4. Develop new method
5. Define all detail work
6. Install new method
7. Maintain and follow up progress.
The training has enabled everyone;
1. Learn to see “waste motion” at Gemba
2. Think for improvement
3. Do Kaizen
4. Scientific method in continuous improvement.
