The training was attended by 79 employees such as leaders & representatives of different department in USV as well as the foreign employees. It was conducted to sharpen their knowledge on some issues that are essential in doing the business effectively.

Topics that were emphasized in the training were:

• Brief overview of Lean Philosophy
• 8 types of waste
• In Station Quality
• 5S
• “Thinking out of the box” activity

Long time employees were recognized and have been thanked by the General Director, Mr. Tang. Vice General director, Ms. Chua Bee Leng also gave her motivational talk that encouraged all employees to become self-developing individuals. For the company’s core value is “People are the only appreciating asset”. This training is one of the milestones of developing people to become future leaders and solution provider in the company.

This workshop was coached by the Vietnam Nike Lean Manager Mr. Le Bang Duc. It was held, first June 3-4, 2015 in USV. Every department of the company had their own representative for the workshop. The workshop included games, which aimed to develop the capability of each participant in sharing their ideas on every task they were assigned for the accomplishment of their team’s common goal.

The main objective of the workshop is to teach each participant to identify problems and enables the team to develop a creative solution and be able to make an action plan for the problem in a systematic way. Some tools used in the workshop were:

• Fish bone diagram
• Mind map
• Decision Matrix

After the workshop, through everyone’s great participation, the team was able to come up for several creative solutions. They were able to identify what those things are needed to do to for improvement, and how to do it. The scheduling for the action plan, like who will do and When to do it have already planned for internal discussion.
