6th Malaysia Local Lean Forum

USG SB has hosted the 6th Malaysia Local Lean Forum (6th-LLF) on 28 November 2013.

The forum has covered Multi Skill Training and 31 participant from USG, SIG, Taiwah and Honsin has met, discussed and shared on the idea and practices in their work place.

A great Thanks to Nike Lean Engineering Manager Ms. Vony, who has supported and given valuable comment on the topic to make forum benefits to everyone.

Every factory has highlighted the important of developing multi-skill in the company. It is a long term investment in human development whereby human is the most valuable asset to the company.

Lean is to eliminate waste and increase value to the customer. These can only be achieved when 4P (People, Product, Process and Philosophy) work as a team.

NOS is a human development system; it help to surface the problem and develop people to have problem solving skill and Kaizen mindset.

There is NO end line in the journey.

USG Staff Dinner

After one year of hardworking, all staff are pleased to be treated with an international buffet along the poolside of Flamingo Hotel. It’s the perfect time to toast the possibility of a better year next year and give all staffs a bit of a boost.

All staff look chairming and beautiful dressing in polka dots or stripes theme dress. Tan Chee Hoe and Tan Yeng Yeng look fancy and outstanding among all and they are awarded with “BEST DRESS OF THE NITE”.

One of the achievement in year 2011 was that we have been awarded with NOS certificate from our customer. Sungai Bakap achieved 100% certification, while 2 NOS lines in Sungai Petani.

The certification has shown the recognition for our Lean Implementation. It is the team effort which contributed these achievement. Mr. WKOng invite Mr. Tang King Hua to hand over the NOS certificate to all qualify Line Leader. Total 20 lines certificate are being given (18 lines in SB and 2 lines in SP).

At last, wish all a Happy & Prosperous New Year.

NOS Ceremony

NOS is Nike’s Lean System. A system to develop and align people around the same goals and methods.

USG production Team Leader and Team Member are excited over the success in NOS certification. It is a recognition for their effort since 2006. Everyone is happy for moving in the right direction; ” NOT EASY, BUT CHALLENGING ”

The journey is just beginning, continual improvement will ensure the success in USG Lean implementation. Toyota has been in Lean Journey for more than 80 years, with the support and courage from top management, USG will continue to improve along the journey.

NOS Celebration Dinner at Golden Triangle

USH has started Lean Journey back to year 2006. The company has set up KPO ( Kaizen Promotion Office ) to look into Lean Implementation in its core value stream; i.e. sewing line.

The coaching from outside consultant as well as training conducted by AITC has support company to transform sewing line from modular to one pcs flow process.

Lean has been referred as Toyota Production System ( TPS ), while NOS is Nike version of TPS.

On 24-02-2011, Nike Lean Director, Ms Angela Ho has visited USH at SB branch to review its sewing line. 12 lines has been officially certified as NOS line at end of the visit.

In recognition for the effort along the lean implementation and the certification of NOS line by Nike, company has organize a dinner for the celebration On 25-02-2011 at Golden Triangle, Autocity. Team leader, group leader, internal lean auditor and operation HOD has gather to celebrate this special day which also marked as ” A New Order Has Begun ” in USH Lean Journey.
