Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Heritage Green Walk 2015 was held at Beach Street on 31 May 2015.

This event was sponsored by Penang OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad with objectives:
1. Raise funds for underprivileged children
2. Encourage a healthy lifestyle
3. Promote the heritage sites of George Town
4. Achieve the objective of a Cleaner, Greener Penang.

USG had donated RM10,000 and sponsored 56 members to participate in this event.

The 5km walk flagged-off by Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at 7.00am sharp.

The walk passed by 15 places including the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, Mariamman Temple, Kapitan Keling Mosque, Cathedral of the Assumption and the Queen Victoria Memorial Clock Tower near the Esplanade.

The event ended at about 11.15am after mock cheque presented to representatives of the children’s homes & centres and the lucky draw session.

Mary Singaram was the luckiest person on the day walk away with a Apple Ipad Mini 2.

On 17 January, 2011, United Sweethearts Garment Sdn Bhd employees donated a cheque of RM1,500 each to Happy Retirement Home, Kepala Batas and True Light Vision Center, Sungai Petani. Happy Retirement Home old folks also received some mandarin oranges, laksa, chai kuih and box drinks. And True Light Vision Center’s orphanage also received some mandarin oranges, exercise books and stationary.

We hope that with this little contribution, it will help to uplift the true meaning of the festivity and to let them know that there are people who still care for their well-being and that they are not alone in this world.
