She officially retired at Mar 31, 2019 at the age of 64. We want to thank her for her peerless performance during the past 27 years, as we congratulate her on her retirement. The years she have worked here have been marked by unsurpassed efficiency and excellence.

We had a farewell dinner with her on Mar 27, 2019 at Sieng Kee Restaurant, Simpang Ampat. Mr. Tang gives a gold bracelet in appreciation on her service and loyalty to the company.

We’ll miss you. We sincerely hope that retirement is wonderful and we wish you lots of joyous time with your family.

Some fortunate employees walked away with the Lucky Draws prizes. The event started by two lovely EMCEE ie Manjulah A/P Nagalingam and Roslinawati Binti Mehat.

Mr. WKOng had given a opening speech, then follows by the opening dance performed by mixture of different department employees.

After that, it continues with “Singing Competition”, “Fancy Dress Competition” and “Dancing Competition”. Nearly to the end, while awaiting the result announcement of Dancing competition, audience are invited to play stage games.

Everyone was enjoyed at that night and reluctant to see it ended.

It is a dine with a great view, savor an array of local and international delicacies and also Chinese New Year Cookies and snacks.

Shuangmusic performers with the instrument of pipa, guzheng, erhu, flute, nguyen stunning all the audience with their marvelous music.

Most of staffs were wearing colorful dress on that night and the dinner end with joyful memories.

A grand dinner was held on 17th January 2015 to celebrate our companies’ 30th anniversary at Millennium Hall Kepala Batas, Penang. Approximately 1,700pax attended the dinner.

Dancing and Singing Performances, LED Season Drum Performance, Seniority Awards, Charity Donation, Best Dress Competition, and Lucky Draw were the highlights during the dinner. There were two lively and colorful dancing performances presented by group of USG SB’s employees and USG SP’s employees that won big applause from the crowd. In appreciation of employees contributions, Seniority Awards were also presented to employees whose year of service fell on 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th years respectively.

Being a caring organization, USG always shares joys of celebrations by donating to community. USG donated RM10,000 to Malaysian Knitting Manufacturers Association (MKMA), RM25,000 to SMJK Jit Sin BM and RM25,000 to SMJK Jit Sin II, SPS respectively in conjunction with the 30th
Anniversary Dinner.

The theme of the dinner was “We Are the World” and a Best Dress Competition with the same theme was held. There were many employees wearing outstanding national costumes, aiming to be one of the winners at that night. 10 finalist were short-listed and 3 winners were selected for
each Male and Female Group.

The most excited moment of the night was the Lucky Draw Session. There were 200 lucky draw prizes with total cost of more than RM88,888 given out.

Everyone was enjoyed at that night and reluctant to see it ended.

This is because a long time ago Chap Goh Meh was the only day that young maidens were allowed to dress up and stroll on the street, albeit having to be accompanied by fierce chaperones. Young men would then go out, hoping to catch a sight of the rarely-seen maidens. Young women also went to temples to pray, hoping for the heavens to send them a suitable match. Matchmakers took the opportunity to strike up marriages between eligible individuals.

There is a new twist to the practice these days, with women writing their phone numbers and email addresses on the oranges before tossing them into spots in the hope that the fruits would be picked up by eligible young men who would be their future spouse.

This “double celebration” will only occurs every 19 years, we take this opportunity to celebrate this day by holding a pot luck lunch party in the office. A lot of dishes such as spaghetti, fried bihun, vegetarian fried rice, bread with curry chicken, fruit rojak, bubur cha cha, Vietnamese spring roll and steam ‘年糕’ (kuih bakul) had been served.
