As soon as all employees dispersed and gathered at assemble point, all HODS update their respective departments’ headcounts to Safety Officer. Assume that one person from cutting department was missing and with the help of Fire Fighting Team, lead by Mr Thanabalan, the victim was found unconscious at cutting walkaway. He was immediately brought to assemble area and given first aid as he was injured on his leg and hand.

The fire drill was conducted successfully to office and production area. The time keeper has recorded duration of 2 minutes when the last person stepped into the assemble area.

It includes initial intervention in a serious condition prior to professional medical help being available, such as performing CPR while awaiting an ambulance, as well as the complete treatment of minor conditions, such as applying a plaster to a cut.

First Aid & CPR training was conducted at USG Sungai Bakap on 11th August 2017 by Malaysian Red Crescent .This training was customized for first aider of USG Sungai Bakap to refresh on essential knowledge and skill in basic life support skill such as CPR, managing different types of wounds & bleeding and technique of dressing and bandaging.

A simulation/mock-drill have been included in this program to accelerate participant’s understanding about managing an accident scene.

HOD’s update their respective departments’ headcount’s to the Fire Warden Chief, found that no injured recorded and all employees understand their role during fire alarm triggers.

The fire drill was conducted successfully to office and production area employees. The time keeper has recorded duration of 2 minutes 30 seconds when the last person stepped into the assemble area.

All employees were evacuated by their nearest exit and assemble at the point on time (2 minutes 50 sec). All HOD updates their respective departments’ headcounts immediately and no missing person was reported.

ERT team played a good role and team work during the drill.

All HOD done a good job to ensure all employees evacuate from the building as fast as possible and update the attendance. All employees gives a very good support and evacuate the building immediately.

Offline checked with all HODS after the drill, all fire alarms is working fine and can hear clearly.

Total 40 participants from both SP factory and SB factory had successfully completed their training.

Each of them was recognized with a certificate issued by Jabatan BOMBA and Penyelamat Malaysia (JBPM).

A lot of activities had been carried out and a lot of knowledge and skills has been gain by participants on the fire safety, fire equipment’s and response procedures.

On 9th September 2016, the ESH committee of USG Sg. Bakap has successfully organized blood donations drive to blood bank of Hospital Seberang Jaya and total 74 of our staff successfully donated the blood. Beside blood donation, there is “Health Talk” conducted by Dr. Nurul Iman from Pusat Kesihatan Seberang Perai Selatan.

The objectives of this program are to raise employees’ awareness of the importance of the blood donation to save life. The “Health Talk” gives very good understanding varies type of non-communicable disease and important of our own healthcare.

“CPR & Occupational First Aid” training was conducted on 19th & 20th August 2016 at USG, Sungai Bakap with 30 participants attended. The participants have learned how to manage in an emergency situation such as wound, fracture and chocking in theory and practical. Later, all the participants will be appointed to be First Aider in Emergency Response Team.

The purpose of this program is to educate the participants on the crucial Occupational Safety & Health subject ‘HIRARC’, its objectives, benefits and its implementation techniques.

The course takes the participants through the key tools of Incident / Accident prevention that is Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC).

The course will take the participants through Hazard identification process, recognizing the Hazards in the work
process, then walk the participants through each step of the HIRARC implementation with practical workshops.

After attending this workshop, 20 participants will be able to describe;
1. Accidents, Hazards and Risks;
2. The methods of identifying the Hazards in the work place.
3. The Risk Assessment methodology.
4. The hierarchy of control measures
5. The implementing techniques of the HIRARC/DC

On 16th March 2016 at 8.30am, a fire alarm was triggered without notification except the ESH members. It was assumed that the causes of fire at store area, alarm triggered manually. All employees were evacuated by their nearest exit and gather at Emergency Assemble Point.

All employees has dispersed and assembled and all Lines Supervisor have respectively reported the own manpower present for the day to the Fire Warden Chief, Mr Prakash Rao (SHO). Later found one person was reported missing. The missing person is attached to store dept.

With the assistance by the Fire Fighting Team lead by Mr. Alex, the victim was found at toilet and was late response to the drill, then he was immediately brought to assemble area. No injury happens.

The fire drill evacuation was conducted successfully to office and production area. The time keeper has recorded duration of 2 min 50 second when the last person stepped into the assembly area. (The maximum time for any evacuation is 3 minutes).
