On 9th September 2016, the ESH committee of USG Sg. Bakap has successfully organized blood donations drive to blood bank of Hospital Seberang Jaya and total 74 of our staff successfully donated the blood. Beside blood donation, there is “Health Talk” conducted by Dr. Nurul Iman from Pusat Kesihatan Seberang Perai Selatan.

The objectives of this program are to raise employees’ awareness of the importance of the blood donation to save life. The “Health Talk” gives very good understanding varies type of non-communicable disease and important of our own healthcare.

Thank you to the management for their commitment and all ESH Committee members who provided full support and cooperation to the event.

In addition, blood supplies need to be replenished constantly, as blood products have a short shelf life. With blood shortages occurring worldwide, it is important to create blood donors who commit to donating regularly and saving lives.

As a way to contribute additional supplies to Blood Bank for Seberang Jaya Hospital, ESH Committee had organized an event on 17th September 2014 where 70 successful donors donated.

On the same event, a women health talk on Reproduction System was conducted by Ms.Crystine Chong from Kuala Lumpur where she shared her experience been a cancer survivor. All female staffs and employees get benefited from the talk session.

In collaborating with Blood Bank from Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim, Sg. Petani, Kedah and ESH Committee of USGSP lead by the Chairman Ms Law Hwa Imm has successfully organized a blood donation campaign at USGSP plant in contributing additional 80 pints of blood to Hospital’s blood bank out of total 108 register donor.

The Blood Donation Campaign is held on 7th March 2014 from 9.00am to 2.00pm. The objectives of the program is to let the USGSP employees understand and raise the awareness of the importance of the blood donation.

With the slogan ‘A Drop of Blood, Can save A Life’ has encouraged a lot of employees to joint in the event to donate their blood. Blood donation not only can save a patient’s life but also can help the donor improve his / her body metabolism.

It brings the exposure of healthy life to the employees through the campaign activities.

It creates awareness and provides innovative idea for employee to live in healthy life style.

Blood Donation register a collection of 68 bags.

Beside the blood donation campaign, the medical representatives from Klinik Kesihatan Bandar, Sungai Petani (Vector Control and PAP SMEAR Test) have accepted the invitation and their presence have make the campaign heavier felt by the employees.

The event was opened by Mr. CHAng (Vice Chairman of ESH Committee USG SP). All activities was carried out smoothly, the dengue prevention, pap smear were held at the canteen and the sick room respectively, whereas the blood donors were directed to assemble at the Packing Department in groups so as not to disrupt the rhythm of the production flow.

End of the day, the blood bank have registered a collection of 77 bags after their hard day work.

We are appreciated that agencies such as Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia as Blood Bank Hospital Seberang Jaya and Pejabat Kesihatan Daerah Seberang Perai Selatan has give full cooperation and participate in the event.

The event was opening by EHS Chairman Ms. Goh Suat Bee and follow by giving some souvenir to the participated agencies.

There are total 62 successful donor out of 83 participants that registered.
